2026年は干支で午年になるので、年末ぎりぎりになってから、年賀状用デザインを一気に作成しました。もちろん！ 生成AI の助けがあってのこそです。
Since 2026 is the Year of the Horse, I created my New Year's card designs right at the end of the year. Of course! I used generative AI to help me with this.

しかし、生成AI によって、そのプロンプト（指示文）によって、本当に 様々な画像が生成されました。 2026年は 生成AIが一気に普及した年になりましたが、同じ画像生成機能を持っていても、品質に大きな差が生まれ始めている事を実感していますので、今後、多くのサービスが淘汰されていくのは間違いありません。 僕は、少なくとも ChatGPT は使っていません。

However, generative AI's prompts generated a truly diverse range of images. While 2026 was the year generative AI became widespread, I've noticed significant differences in quality even among services with the same image generation capabilities. I'm sure many services will be eliminated in the future. At the very least, I don't use ChatGPT.

今後、あらゆるメディアで目にするものの多くが 生成AI で作られたものになるでしょう。特に、ニュースキャスターも 実在の人ではない場面が増えるでしょうし、商品広告でも、実際の商品は一切撮影せず、殆どが PC上で作られるのは間違いないでしょう。実際、自動車のPR動画の多く、特に新型車発表時のものは、生成AI の作品です。

Going forward, much of what we see in all media will be created with generative AI. In particular, news anchors will increasingly be depicted as non-real people, and product advertisements will undoubtedly be created almost entirely on PC, without any actual product footage. In fact, many automobile promotional videos, especially those for new car launches, are the work of generative AI.

生成AI 作品ばかりになるのが当たり前になると、生の人間が実在の人やモノを撮影して、生の人間が作成したコピーや文章こそが、真価が問われると同時に、貴重な存在となっていくのは間違いありません。

As generative AI works become the norm, the true value of copy and writing created by real people, filming real people and things, will undoubtedly be questioned and become even more valuable.

同時に、懸念すべき事、恐れている事は、企業が自社作品の本物らしいフェイク動画を作る事以上に、一般市民や国家がフェイク動画を大量に作って広めてしまう事です。

At the same time, what is concerning and fearful is not so much companies creating authentic-looking fake videos of their own work as it is ordinary citizens and nation states creating and spreading fake videos in large quantities.

2025年後半、高性能な動画生成AI が 次々とリリースされたので、既にリール動画などで目にしている人も多いでしょうが、それが圧倒的な量で広まり、社会を一種混乱状態に陥れるのは間違いないでしょう。特に、国家によって作られた場合には深刻な影響が広がるでしょう。

In the second half of 2025, high-performance video-generative AI will be released one after another, and many people will have already seen them in reel videos, but there is no doubt that they will spread in overwhelming numbers and plunge society into a state of chaos. The impact will be particularly serious when they are created by nation states.

そういう意味で、2026年は、真の情報、真のジャーナリズムが問われる年になるのかも知れません。
In that sense, 2026 may be the year when true information and true journalism will be questioned.

その様な時代の流れの中、GRA の存在感は高まると僕は信じています。と言うのも、オートバイの運動力学分析やライディング論についても、他には見られない独自な理論に基づいていて、汎用な知識や情報を使って生成する AI には作れないものだからです。特に、数多く保管している 過去の映像こそ、今の時代だからこそ、更に価値が高まるでしょう。

Amid such trends, I believe GRA's presence will grow. This is because our analysis of motorcycle kinematics and riding theory is based on unique theories that cannot be found anywhere else, and is something that generative AI cannot create using general-purpose knowledge and information. In particular, the large amount of archived footage will likely become even more valuable in today's world.

しかし、生成AI を否定しているわけではありません。逆に、生成AI を使って、例えば フロントフォークのストローク位置別のバネ乗数を、金属スプリングとエアスプリングを合わせた数値でグラフ化する計画していますし、運動力学を示す簡単な動画の作成も計画していて、それらによって、より多くのライダーのオートバイに対する知識が深まり、より安全で快適なオートバイライフが実現すると信じているのです。

2026年も、GRAの活動にご期待とご支援を宜しくお願いします。

However, this does not mean that we are rejecting generative AI. On the contrary, we plan to use generative AI to graph, for example, the spring multiplier for each stroke position of the front fork, combining values ​​for metal springs and air springs. We also plan to create simple videos demonstrating kinematics. 2025年から2026年へ / From 2025 to 2026

2025年は、メインPCがダウンしてしまい、殆ど活動が出来なくなったピンチの年でした。しかし、多くの方々の支援のお陰で、システムが一気に更新できて、AI の進化もあり、ダウン以前よりも中身の濃い活動の基盤を築く事が出来ました。ご支援を下さった方々に、改めてお礼を申し上げます。ありがとうございました。

2025 was a difficult year for us, as our main PC went down and we were unable to carry out most of our activities. However, thanks to the support of many people, we were able to quickly update our system, which has allowed us to build a more robust foundation for our activities than before. We would like to once again express our gratitude to everyone who supported us.

ダウンした際に気付かされた事は、以前と較べて、この活動にはインターネット回線とPCが大変に重要になっている事です。さらに、急速に発展している 生成AI も 情報の整理や画像作成などで欠かせない存在になっています。2026年は、更新されたシステムと AI を活用して、更に活動を前進させていきますので、ご期待ください。

When the system went down, we realized that internet access and PCs are now much more important for this activity than before. Furthermore, rapidly developing generative AI has become indispensable for organizing information and creating images. In 2026, we will utilize the updated system and AI to further advance our activities, so please look forward to it.

PC 回復、あと一歩 / PC Recovery Just One Step Away

8月初旬、長年使っていた PC がダウンした後、作成中だった自作PCの修理を依頼して、8月下旬に元気になって戻ってきてから、PC環境の回復に時間を費やしてきましたが、今日、M.2 SSD にヒートシンク（冷却板）を装着して、これで PC の改修は終了しました。多くの人にご心配をお掛けし、多くのご支援を頂戴したお陰で、無事に ここまで到達しまし。ありがとうございました。

My long-time PC crashed in early August. Since receiving a replacement PC in late August, I've been working on restoring my PC environment. Today, I installed a heatsink (cooling plate) on the M.2 SSD, completing the PC restoration. I'm grateful to so many people for their concern and the generous support I received, and I've been able to get this far safely. Thank you very much.

思い返すと、PCがダウンした時は全く困り果て、PCを交換してからも、最新OS になった ジェネレーションギャップ（？）に悩まされた他に、一部の構成部品の不具合なども重なり、完全回復が果てしなく遠く感じられた事もありました。改めて、ここまでご支援を下さった方にお礼を申し上げます。
 
Looking back, I was completely at a loss when my PC crashed. Even after replacing it, I struggled with the generation gap (?) of the latest OS. In addition, I also experienced component malfunctions, and at times, a complete recovery seemed infinitely far away. I'd like to once again express my gratitude to everyone who has supported me up to this point.

ただ、あと一歩、回復していない事が少しあります。その一つが、作成した動画を掲載している Youtube の管理が出来ない状況が続いているのです。その要因は、現在、Youtube を所有している Google のセキリティが、以前よりも厳しくなっているからです。 GRAでは 4つのアカウントで Youtube を利用していますが、最初に登録した当時よりも遥かにセキュリティが厳しくなっている関係で、新しいPCで利用を始める際、最初に登録した時の情報が使えなくなっているからです。その為、本人確認の認証を得る為の方法に悩み、AI（Gemini）と相談しながら。今も認証を得る作業を進めている段階です。そして、Google は認証申請してから 丸5日間を本人認証をする為の期間としている事も時間を要している原因です。厳しいセキュリティ対策は安心材料ですが、一つひとつ確認しながら、 4つのアカウントを回復させるにはもう数日は掛かりそうです。とても悩まさせられましたが、勉強にもなっています。あと少しです。

However, there are still a few things that have kept me from fully recovering. One of them is the continued inability to manage YouTube. This is due to the fact that Google, which currently owns YouTube, has stricter security measures than before. At GRA, we use YouTube with four accounts, but because security has become much stricter since we first registered, the information we used when we first registered is no longer valid when we start using a new PC. Therefore, we're currently consulting with AI (Gemini) and working through the process of obtaining identity verification, while still struggling. Another factor that's taking so long is that Google requires a full five days for identity verification after application. While strict security measures are reassuring, it will likely take a few more days to restore all four accounts, checking each one one by one.

到着！ 次期カメラ / Arrived! New Camera

8月8日、長年に亘ってイベント撮影に活躍してきたカメラ・ニコンD90 がダウンして、修理か次の機種の購入かと検討していましたが、翌々日の10日に、PCもダウンしてしまし、すっかり PC の対応に追われていました。そして、PC 環境がある程度整ったので、ようやく、カメラの事に頭を使う余裕が生まれて、D90 の修理は難しいと判り、今日、次期カメラがやって来ました。ニコンの D5200 です。これで、以前よりも解像度の高い画像で報告が出来ると期待しています。

On August 8th, my Nikon D90, the camera I'd used for event photography for many years, crashed. I considered getting it repaired or buying a new model. However, two days later, on the 10th, my PC also crashed, and I was completely preoccupied with dealing with the issue. Now that my PC environment is more or less in order, I finally have time to focus on my camera. I realized that repairing the D90 would be difficult, so today my new camera arrived: a Nikon D5200. I'm hoping that with this, I'll be able to report on it with higher-resolution images than before.

右側が 新しくやって来た 2014年生まれの D5200です。一眼レフカメラのエントリーモデルとして発売されているので、世界で初めて動画撮影も可能な一眼レフカメラとして注目された 2008年生まれの中級機・D90（左側）と較べて、操作系が簡略化されて、ボディも一回り小さく軽くなっています。しかし、4年の間の技術開発の差は大きく、D5200 は D90 の倍近い解像度になっている等、決してあなどれない性能を持っているのです。

On the right is the newly arrived D5200, released in 2014. Released as an entry-level SLR camera, it boasts simplified controls and a smaller, lighter body than the 2008 mid-range D90 (on the left), which attracted attention as the world's first SLR capable of video recording. However, the gap in technological development over the past four years is significant, and the D5200 has performance that should not be underestimated, with nearly twice the resolution of the D90.
 
 
オートバイに例えるならば、中級機の D90 は 僕のトライアンフ ストリートトリプル（675㏄）で、エントリーモデルの D5200は 僕の VTR250（250㏄）です。しかし、排気量でオートバイの性能が決まらない様に、カメラも発売時の価格や評判だけで全てが決まる筈はないでしょう。問題は、どう使いこなすかだと信じています。初心者級のカメラマンである事を自覚して、腕を磨きつつ、カメラの性能を活かした イベント報告や解説を目指していきます。

To use a motorcycle analogy, the mid-range D90 is like my Triumph Street Triple (675cc), and the entry-level D5200 is like my VTR250 (250cc). However, just as a motorcycle's performance is not determined by its engine displacement, a camera's performance should not be determined solely by its price or reputation at the time of release. I believe the key is how to use it to its full potential. I am aware that I am a beginner-level photographer, and I aim to continue honing my skills while making use of the camera's performance in my event reports and commentary.

PC作業環境 88％回復 / My PC-work environment is now 88% back.

8月10日に 業務に長年使っていた 自作PCがダウンして以来、多くの方々の支援を受けながら 対応に努め、ようやく、PC作業環境がダウン前の 88％程度まで回復した事をお伝えします。

Since my long-time, custom-built PC went down on August 10th, I've been working with the support of many people, and I'm happy to report that my PC work environment has finally recovered to about 88% of its pre-downtime state. 


【 主な経緯 / Major Events 】

■ 8月10日         業務用PC がダウン、マザーボード破損と推定
     Aug. 10th:      My work PC went down, with a presumed motherboard failure.         

■ 8月11日         代替用PCを修理の為に 支援者の方へ発送
    Aug. 11th:      A replacement PC was sent to a supporter for repair. 

■ 8月12～24日  ダウン以前の PC環境に回復の為の 技術的な支援をメールなどで受ける
     Aug. 12-24th: I received technical support via email to restore my PC to its
                            pre-downtime state.

■ 8月17日         支援者の方から、「機材購入用に」として、現金 1万円を受領
    Aug. 17th:      I received 10,000 yen in cash from a supporter for "equipment
                           purchases."

■ 8月20日         修理を終えた代替用PC が返着
    Aug. 20th:      The repaired replacement PC was returned.

■ 9月 4日          ノートPC の寄贈を受ける
    Sep. 4th :        I received a laptop donation 

現在、回復していないのは 主に Google に関係する領域で、厳しいセキュリティ対応と PC変更の関係から、Google のブログ・Blogger の 3サイトと Youtube の 4チャンネル（4アカウント）の管理や更新が出来ない状況が続いています。ただ、こちらも 9月中旬までには解決できる見通しですので、今後の展開と発展にご期待下さい。

Currently, the areas that remain unrecovered are primarily related to Google. Due to strict security measures and changes to my PC, I am still unable to manage or update my three Google blogs/Blogger sites and four YouTube channels (four accounts). However, this issue is also expected to be resolved by mid-September, so please look forward to future developments and updates.

PC環境 回復度 78％（8月30日）/ PC Environment Recovery Rate: 78% "August 30th"

長年使った PC がダウンして 21日目、代替PC が元気になって戻って来てから 11日目になり、少しずつ PCを使った作業環境が回復しつつありますが、中々、思う様に進まない事もあり、回復度 78％ ほどです。

It's been 21 days since my long-used PC went down, and 11 days since my replacement PC was restored and returned. My PC-based work environment is slowly recovering, but things don't always go as planned, and I'm only about 78% recovered.

今日は、プリンター（スキャナー込み）の設定でつまづいています。
GRA を設立してから 35年目になりますが、その間、PC は何度も変更して、最初は 市販PC で始まり、今回の 代替PC は 5台目の自作PCと、数年毎に代わっていますが、実は、プリンター は 長く使い続けています。それも、様々な事情で 入手した レーザープリンター 1台と 多機能型インクジェット 2台の 合計3台を 使い分けしている程、オートバイも同じですが、古い機械でも長く使い続けるのが好きなのです。
しかし、今日、それぞれのプリンターの ドライバーをメーカーからダウンロードして、インストールしても、古い 2台のプリンターを稼働させる事が出来ずにいるのです。きっと、最新OS との相性の悪さが影響しているのでしょうが、以前と同じ作業環境に簡単に戻れない事は、結構、ストレスになっています。

最新OS との相性の悪さを示しているのは、画像ソフトでも発見しています。古いOS で稼働させていた時と較べて、作動しなくなった細かいメニューがあって、少しつまづいています。が、前に進めていくしかありませんね。

Today, I had trouble setting up my printer (including scanner).
GRA has been around for 35 years since its founding, and I've changed PCs many times over that time. Starting with a commercial PC, this replacement PC is my fifth self-built PC, and I've replaced them every few years. However, I've continued using my printers for a long time. I have three printers in total: one laser printer and two multifunction inkjets, acquired for various reasons. Just like with motorcycles, I like to keep using old machines for a long time.
However, even after downloading and installing the drivers for each printer from the manufacturer, I still can't get my two old printers to work. I'm sure it's due to incompatibility with the latest OS, but not being able to easily return to the same work environment as before is quite stressful.

I've also noticed issues with my image software that indicate incompatibility with the latest OS. Compared to when I was running it on the older OS, there are some small menus that no longer work, which is causing me a bit of trouble. But I guess I just have to keep moving forward.

PC環境 回復中です / PC Recovery in Progress

実は、8月10日、長年、事務局で使っていた PC がダウンしてしまいました。
PCの動作に必要な 4種類の電圧の内、12V の供給が異常に高くなり、PCは自己保身の為に作動を拒否する様になったのです。恐らく、マザーボードのコンデンサー回路が破損してしまったと思います。

Actually, on August 10th, the PC we'd been using in our office for many years went down.
Of the four voltages required for PC operation, the 12V supply became abnormally high, causing the PC to refuse to operate in an attempt to protect itself. We believe the capacitor circuit on the motherboard was damaged.

そこで、代替用の PC が必要になり、以前から代替用PC として組み立てていた PC の出番となりました。しかし、このPC、組み立てた後の動作確認中に動作不良が見つかり、そのまま放置していたので修理が必要でした。

So, we needed a replacement PC, and we turned to a PC we'd previously assembled as a replacement. However, during a post-assembly check, we discovered a malfunction. Since we'd left it as is, it needed repair.

幸いな事に、日頃から支援して下さっている方が修理して下さる事になり、8月20日、OS が最新バージョンになって元気な姿で戻って来ました。ただ、その後、新PC での作業環境を整えるのにつまづいていました。慣れない OS で作業環境を整える事の面倒さと、DVDドライブの動作不良が重なり、PC環境の回復は遅れました。しかし、こういう処理に慣れている支援者の方のアドバイスもあり、メール環境の回復と、業務に不可欠のソフトのインストールも進み、ダウン以前と較べて 約70％ まで回復して、各種の GRA公式のブログサイト と X（旧ツィッター）は更新できる様になりました。そして、公式Webサイトの更新や動画編集も 近日中には再開できる見込みです。
以上、事務局からの発信活動は「夏休み」を頂戴しましたが、来月中盤には、以前よりも充実した発信活動が可能になると確信していますので、どうぞ、ご期待ください。

Fortunately,  a regular supporter of ours was able to repair it, and on August 20th, it was back in working order with the latest OS. However, we then had trouble setting up a working environment on the new PC. The hassle of setting up a working environment on an unfamiliar OS, combined with a malfunctioning DVD drive, delayed the PC's recovery. However, thanks to advice from our supporters, we have recovered to about 70% of the capacity we had before the outage, and we are now able to update the various official GRA blog sites and X (formerly Twitter). We also expect to be able to resume updating the official website and editing videos in the near future.
As mentioned above, communication activities from the secretariat have taken a "summer break," but we are confident that by the middle of next month we will be able to communicate more effectively than before, so please look forward to it.

看板、出来ました / The sign is done

はい、以前お伝えしていた「看板」作り、やっと完成しました。
20ヶ月前に構想し、必要な材料を手配して、それから1年以上放置していました。

Hey there! So, remember that 'sign' I mentioned ages ago? Well, I finally finished it! Can you believe it? I came up with the idea 20 months ago, gathered all the materials, and then just let it sit for over a year.
　　

    
いえ、難しい事は何もありませんでした。
いや、決して忙しかったからでは、ない筈です。
きっと、気が乗らなかった、集中出来なかったからです。

Honestly, it wasn’t anything complicated. And no, it’s not like I was super busy or anything. I just wasn’t feeling it and couldn’t focus, you know?
　

     
なぜか？ 今日は「その気」が生まれて、
午後から作成に着手して、ようやく架台に設置しました。
少し大げさな話に聞こえるでしょうが、少し変わりそうです。
体調も一枚、ラッピングがクリアになった気がします。

さあ、仕事を始めます。

But guess what? Today, out of nowhere, I suddenly got the motivation! I dove into it this afternoon and finally set it up on the stand. I know it sounds a bit dramatic, but it feels like a little transformation is happening. I even feel like my mood has lifted a notch!

Alright, time to get to work!
