【 旋回モーメント / Turning Moment 】

オートバイのタイヤは自転車と較べて太く、バンクさせた時に接地面がトレッドの中央部からバンクさせた側へと大きく移動します。そして、この接地面の移動が旋回モーメントを生み、前輪の向きを変える力となり、オートバイの旋回力の最大の要素になっています。

When the bike is banked, the contact surface moves significantly from the center of the tread to the side where it is banked. This movement of the contact surface creates a turning moment, which becomes the force that changes the direction of the front wheel and is the largest factor in the turning force of a motorcycle.

   
    

【 バンキングブレーキ / Lean Brake 】
    
オートバイのタイヤでは、トレッド上の周速（速度）は中央部と端部とでは異なり、端部になる程に周速は低くなります。つまり、直立状態からバンクさせた瞬間、周速の違いから、必ずブレーキングが生まれます。そして、このブレーキングによって、旋回モーメントも大きくなります。

In motorcycle tires, the circumferential speed on the tread is different between the center and the edge, and the circumferential speed is lower at the edge. In other words, the moment you lean from an upright position, braking will always occur due to the difference in circumferential speed. This braking also increases the turning moment.
   

   
     
【 接地面形状 / Contact Patch Shape 】
     　
バンク角が大きくなる程に、接地面は前後に長くなります。そして、長くなる程に前輪の向きが変わり難くなります。つまり、バンクさせた状態でハンドル操作を行なう事は、タイヤの自然な状態を無視する事になり、グリップの喪失を招きます。

The greater the lean angle, the longer the contact patch. And the longer it is, the harder it is to change the direction of the front wheels. In other words, steering while leaning ignores the natural state of the tires, which leads to a loss of grip.
