交通公園清掃報告「36㎡ 完了！」/ Traffic Park Cleaning Report "36㎡ Completed!"

5月27日（火）、赤穂市の交通公園の路面清掃活動を行ない、前回に引き続いて、公園の外周路の清掃を行なって、今回は 36㎡ をクリアして、最後にオートバイの乗り方の指導を意外な人から受けました。

On May 27th, we cleaned the road surface of Ako City's Traffic Park, cleaning the outer road, clearing 36㎡ this time, and finally received instruction on how to ride a motorcycle from an unexpected person.

昨年12月から、土砂が厚く堆積して植物の侵略が酷く、条件が最も厳しかった外周路エリアの清掃を始めましたが、今回のエリアは、それに較べると楽なエリアでした。しかし、10㎝ 近く堆積した土砂を除去して、路面を発掘する作業に変わりありません。

Since last December, we have been cleaning the outer road area, which was the most difficult due to the thick accumulation of soil and sand, but this area was easier in comparison. However, it is still a task of removing nearly 10cm of accumulated soil and excavating the road surface.

こうして 長さ約12ｍ、路面幅 3ｍ、約 36㎡ の 広さの外周路をクリアしました。 しかし、外周路の総面積は 約 624㎡ で、今回までに清掃を完了したのは 約 180㎡ ほどです。まだまだ、外周路作業は続きます。

In this way, we have cleared the outer road area of ​​about 36㎡. However, the total area of ​​the outer road is about 624㎡, and we have completed cleaning about 180㎡ so far. There is still work to be done on the outer road.

目標にしていたエリアの清掃を終え、器具の片付けをしてから、約2か月ぶりにオートバイの練習を始めようとしていた時の事です。公園の中に植えられている背の低い灌木の剪定の為に、年輩（僕と同年代か？）のお二人の 庭師の方が公園にいらっしゃいました。

After finishing cleaning the target area and packing up the equipment, I was about to start practicing my motorcycle for the first time in about two months when two elderly gardeners came to the park to prune the shrubs planted in the park.

そこで、挨拶に行って、練習走行が邪魔にならないかを尋ねたところ、「わしらは 午後からの仕事だから、構わんよ」と言って、「わしは、福岡の飯塚出身で、オートレース場の近くだったから、よく観に行っていた」「だから、練習を見させtもらうよ」と言ってくださいました。

So I went to say hello to them and asked them if their practice run would be a nuisance. They said, "We work in the afternoon, so it's fine," and "I'm from Iizuka in Fukuoka, and I used to go to watch the auto races often because it was close by," and "So I'll be sure to let you watch the practice."

10分間ほど、ブレーキを使わない基本練習で 約 4㎞ 走行してから、改めて「お邪魔しました」と挨拶に行ったところ、その方から「あと 2時間くらいは講習を受けた方が良いんじゃないか」と指導を受けたので、「ありがとうございます！ もっと精進します！」とお礼を返しました。すると、その方から「また会えそうな気がするな」と言って下さいました。人生とは人との出会いの旅ですから、こんな出会いも嬉しいものです。

After about 10 minutes of basic practice without using the brakes, I went back to say hello and said, "Thank you for coming." They told me, "Maybe you should take another two hours of training." I replied, "Thank you! I'll work harder!" They then said, "I feel like I'll see you again." Life is a journey of meeting people, so it's nice to have encounters like this.

交通公園清掃報告「ツバメたちの季節」/ Traffic Park Cleaning Report "Swallows' Season"

5月19日（月）、赤穂市の交通公園の路面清掃を行ないました。そして、報告したい事が多くあった日でした。

On Monday, May 19th, we cleaned the roads at Ako City's Traffic Park. And there was a lot to report on that day.

最初に報告したい事は、現在進めている公園の外周路清掃で、やっと、四辺の内の一辺の外周路の清掃が完了した事です。土砂と草に覆われた公園の角地を発掘した時は、まるで、世界一周の旅に出て「喜望峰」を通過した時の様な感動を覚えました。達成感は励みになります。

The first thing I want to report is that we have finally completed cleaning one side of the outer path. When I excavated the corner of the park covered with dirt and grass, I felt as if I had gone on a trip around the world and passed the Cape of Good Hope. The sense of accomplishment is encouraging.

これで、次回からは、外周路の別の一辺の清掃を開始する予定です。今回の最もハードなエリアの経験で、きっと、以前よりも楽に進められると期待しています。

From next time, we plan to start cleaning another side of the outer path. I'm sure that this experience of the hardest area will make it easier than before.

更に、外周路よりも嬉しかった事があります。それは、前回（5/13）、公園を訪問して、僕に「あんた えらいなぁ＝」と言って励ましてくれた年輩の男性が、今回も リード50に乗ってやって来てくれたのです。しかも、恐らく、わざわざ僕の為にコンビニで買った飲み物を 2本も持って来てくれたのです。ありがたい事です。 そんな励ましが僕を元気にしてくれます。

But there was something that made me even happier. That was when an elderly man who had encouraged me by saying "You're great" when I visited the park last time (5/13) went out of his way to bring me two drinks he had bought at a convenience store. I'm grateful for that. Such encouragement cheers me up.

この公園は、河川敷に設置されている事から、いつも様々な野鳥・小鳥たちのさえずりに囲まれて作業をしていますが、今回は ツバメたちが近くまでやって来ました。公園横で湿った土が溜まっている場所に集まり、きっと、巣作り用の材料として泥や枯草を集めているのでしょう。つまり、カップルが成立していているのです。羨ましい事です。

In this park, I am always surrounded by the chirps of various wild and small birds while I work, but this time, some swallows came close to me. They gathered in a place where damp soil had accumulated next to the park, and I'm sure they were collecting mud and dead grass to build nests. In other words, they have formed a couple. I'm envious of them.

交通公園清掃報告『良い日でした』/ Traffic Park Cleaning Report "It was a Good Day

5月13日（火）、赤穂市の交通公園の路面清掃は、多くの人との出会いがあって、良い一日でした。

On May 13th, we cleaned the roads at Ako City's Traffic Park, and it was a great day with many encounters.

今日の目標にしていた作業の半分ほどが終わった頃、二人の男性が公園の中に入って歩いて来ました。それも、僕に向かって真っすぐに歩いているのです。「？？」... 挨拶をしようとしてお二人の顔を見ると、それは公園の管理担当をされている市役所の人でした。いつもは、市役所でお話をして、作業の後でメールで報告をしているのですが、「作業しているのが見えたので来ました」と言って、公園に来て下さったのは初めてだったので嬉しくなりました。 その上、「公園をゴールデンウィーク中に利用したいけど・・」という問合せが関東の会社に勤めている方からあったと報せて下さり、更に嬉しくなったのです。問い合わせをされた方は、お知り合いの方のオートバイの練習を講習される予定だとの事で、この交通公園の存在が広く伝わっている事と、オートバイの講習目的に使われる事で更に嬉しくなったのです。お蔭で、もっと安心して使ってもらえる様に、清掃を進めていく気持ちが高まりました。

When I was about halfway through the work I had set for today, two men walked into the park. They were walking straight towards me. "???"... I turned to say hello and saw that they were from the city hall in charge of managing the park. They said, "We came because we saw you working there," and it was the first time that someone had come to say hello, so I was very happy. They also told me that they had received an inquiry from a company in the Kanto region, saying, "I'd like to use the park during the holidays...", which made me even happier. The person who made the inquiry said that he was planning to give a motorcycle training course for a friend of his, so I was even happier that the existence of this traffic park was being widely known and that it was being used for motorcycle training purposes. Thanks to this, I felt more motivated to continue cleaning up so that people could use the park with peace of mind.

昨年の3月から路面清掃を始めていますが、昨年よりも、交通公園を通ってウォーキングされる方が増えています。きっと、公園が以前より綺麗になった事も影響しているのでしょう。今回も、初めてお会いした方々と挨拶が交わせました。嬉しい事です。

We started cleaning the roads in March of last year, and more people are walking through Traffic Park than last year. This is probably because the park has become cleaner than before. This time, too, I was able to exchange greetings with people I met for the first time. It made me happy.

作業も終盤に入った頃、ホンダの 50㏄ 原付スクーターに乗った男性が交通公園へと乗り入れていらっしゃいました。「わぉ、練習してもらえるのか・・」と期待して、挨拶に行きました。すると、男性は僕よりも少し年上の方で、「あんた、いつも清掃をやっているねぇ」と話かけられて、「ボランティアでやっとるの、エラいねぇ」と言って下さいました。きっと、公園の横の道路を走る時に見て下さっていたのでしょう。そして、「暑くなるから、気をつけてな」と言って、のど飴を二つ下さいました。とても有り難い事です。お蔭で、目標にしていたエリア以上に清掃が進みました。 ありがとうございました。

As the work was nearing the end, a man on a Honda 50cc scooter rode into the traffic park. I went to greet him, hoping that he would be able to practice. The man, who was a little older than me, said to me, "You always clean up, don't you?" and added, "You're doing this as a volunteer, that's impressive." He must have seen me as I was driving along the road next to the park. He then said, "It's going to get hot, so be careful," and gave me two lozenges. I was very grateful. Thanks to him, we were able to clean up more areas than we had planned. Thank you very much.

交通公園の路面清掃は、多くの人が安心して使える様に回復させるのが目的ですが、それとは別に 僕自身の身体のリハビリテーションも兼ねています。 体調が良い時を選んで行なっていますが、昨年よりも、少しずつ回復している事を自覚しています。身体的な負荷・疲労度が一定以上になる事を心掛けているのですが、実質の作業量や作業エリアが確実に増えているのです。良い流れです。 路面清掃は、心と身体に良い効果を与えてくれています。

The purpose of cleaning the roads at the traffic park is to restore them so that many people can use them safely, but it also serves as my own physical rehabilitation. I am aware that I am recovering little by little compared to last year. I try to keep the physical load and fatigue level above a certain level, but the actual amount of work and the work area are definitely increasing. It's a good flow. Cleaning the roads has a positive effect on both the mind and body.

最も路面清掃がハードなエリアは、昨年12月から始めて、ほぼクリアして、あと一日で 外周路の 一辺 がクリアできそうです。 目標にして進めている 外周路はまだ多く残っていますが、一辺 だけでも完了すると励みになるでしょう。 また、報告をします。

We started cleaning the most difficult area last December and have almost completed it. It looks like we will be able to clear one side of the outer perimeter in one more day. There are still many parts of the outer perimeter that we are aiming to clear, but it will be encouraging to complete even one side. We will report back.

交通公園清掃報告「ツツジの公園」/ Cleaning Report "Azalea Park"

赤穂市交通公園にある「ツツジ」が咲いて、公園が一番綺麗に見える大型連休中に、公園を訪れる方々の邪魔にならない様に路面清掃を行なってきました。（下の画像は 2024年5月の撮影です）

During the long holiday when the azaleas in Ako Traffic Park bloom and the park looks its most beautiful, we cleaned the road surface so as not to disturb the people who visit the park. (The image below was taken in May 2024)

そして、ようやく 最もハードなエリアの清掃を終える事が出来ました。

And finally, we were able to finish cleaning the most difficult area.

やっぱり、連休中だからでしょうか、散歩やウォーキングで公園を訪れる人々は多く、その殆どの方々と挨拶を交わせた事が喜びでした。

Perhaps because it was during the holiday, many people visited the park for walks and walking, and it was a pleasure to be able to exchange greetings with most of them.

しかし、清掃が済んでいない外周路はたっぷり残っています。ハードなエリアも多く残っていますが、地味に少しずつ進めて、今よりも安全に自転車やオートバイで練習できる環境にしていきます。

However, there is still a lot of the outer path that has not been cleaned. There are still many difficult areas, but we will continue to make steady progress little by little to create an environment where people can practice bicycles and motorcycles more safely than now.

「ツツジ」の季節は、この2024年の画像でも分かる通り、他の草たちも一斉に伸びて来る季節です。清掃を完了したエリアで伸びてくる草たちの処理時間も増えてくるでしょう。 それにしても、昨年の公園は、草たちの楽園状態そのものでしたね。

As you can see from this 2024 image, the azalea season is the season when other grasses also grow all at once. It will take more time to process the grass that grows in the areas where cleaning has been completed. Even so, last year's park was a paradise for grass.
