交通公園清掃報告「カラスと一緒に」 / Road Cleaning Report ”With the Crows”

昨年と較べて、少しずつ体調が回復している実感があり、4月25日も、少しだけ作業量を増やしてみました。そして、一番ハードなエリアの完了もあと一歩となったのを、カラスたちも観ていてくれました。

Compared to last year, my health is gradually improving, so on April 25th, I tried to increase the amount of work a little. And the crows were watching as I completed the hardest area.

赤穂市の交通公園で、最も路面に土砂が堆積していたエリアは公園の南角でした。最も堆積している箇所では厚さ18㎝ 以上に土砂が溜まり、その上に芝や草が生え、3m幅の外周路の内、幅 2ｍほどが草に覆われている状態でした。

The southern corner of Ako City's Traffic Park was the area where the most sediment had accumulated on the road surface, with more than 18 cm of sediment accumulated, grass and grass growing on top of it, and about 2 m of the 3 m wide outer road was covered with grass.

そんなエリアの清掃も、あと一日の清掃で完了です。あと一日で、以前に清掃を完了している中央通路部に辿り着けます。そうなったら、この勢いのまま、残りの外周路の清掃へと進んでいきます。

It takes another day to clean up this area and reach the central passageway, which was previously cleaned. When that happens, I will continue cleaning the rest of the outer road with this momentum.

それにしても、草たちの浸食力は強いですね。アスファルト舗装の継ぎ目に入り込み、徐々に継ぎ目を広げ、土も呼び込んでしっかりと根付いている様子がコースの至る所で見られます。来月、5月は草たちが一気に伸びる時期です。ちょっとした戦いが続きそうです。
あっ、そうそう、カラスのカップルが、僕に慣れてしまったのか、公園の枯れ枝を集めて運んでいました。鳥たちの巣作りの季節ですね。

And a pair of crows, who had gotten used to me, were collecting dead branches in the park and carrying them away. It's nest-building season for birds.

交通公園利用促進活動「局長から局長へ」/ Promotion Activities "From Director to Director"

本日（4/21）、第4回目の「交通公園 利用促進活動」を行ない、人と人との繋がりや協力を深める結果になりました。

On April 21, we held the fourth Traffic Park Promotion Activity, which resulted in deepening the connections between people.

今回、交通公園の利用を案内に伺ったのは赤穂郵便局で、今回で 3回目の訪問になりました。と言うのは、2回目、3月初旬に訪問した際に対応して下さった郵便局長さんが 3月末に異動され、4月から新しい局長さんが赴任される事が決まっていたからです。そこで、改めて訪問アポイントメントを得る為に、事務局の近所にある 坂越郵便局の局長さんにアポイントメント取得のお願いしたのですが、この局長さんが感激するほどに親身になって協力して下さったのです。

This time, we visited Ako Post Office for the third time to show people around Traffic Park. This is because a new post office manager is scheduled to take up his post in April. Therefore, in order to make an appointment to visit again, we asked the post office manager of Sakoshi Post Office, which is located near the GRA office, to make an appointment for us, and he was so kind and cooperative that we were touched.

3月、事前にお願いしていたのですが、先日、その局長さんの方から「アポ取りましょうか」と積極的に言って下さり、2時間後には「4月21日、10時で取りましたよ！」と連絡を受けたのです。そして、新しい局長さんを訪問したのですが、きっと、事前に良いイメージを説明されていたのでしょうたのでしょう、今回は、立派な局長室に案内された上に、交通公園の利用をお願いにも直ぐに理解を示されて了承を得られたのです。

I had asked him in advance in March, and the other day, the post office manager proactively arranged a meeting reservation. Then, I visited the new post office manager, and I'm sure he must have explained a good image to me in advance, because this time, he not only guided me to a nice post office room, but also immediately showed understanding and agreed to my request to use Traffic Park.

これで、集荷配達をされている職員の方々の安全にも寄与できますし、他の民間事業者の方々の交通公園の利用も広がっていくと期待できます。 これも、坂越郵便局の局長さんのご協力のお蔭です。
さあ、次は 小学校と中学校での利用を模索していて、こちらは 市議会議員さんのお力もお借りする予定です。

This will contribute to the safety of employees who collect and deliver parcels, and we hope that other private businesses will also use the Traffic Park more. This is also thanks to the cooperation of the Sakakoshi Post Office manager.
Next, we are looking into using the park in elementary and junior high schools.

交通公園清掃報告「早起き鳥と共に」/ Road Cleaning Report ”With the Early Bird”

春になり、急に暖かい日が続く様になったので、体調を考慮して、清掃活動は早朝開始へと切り替えました。 そして、賑やかにさえずる早起き鳥たちに励まされながらの清掃になりました、

With the arrival of spring and the warm weather, we started to start cleaning early in the morning. We were encouraged by the early birds who were singing noisily.

この赤穂市の交通公園の中で、最も土砂の堆積が酷く、最も路面清掃が困難なエリアに入って 6日目になりましたが、手順が良くなったのか、鳥たちの声援のお蔭か、最近では最も広い 約 15㎡ の清掃が行なえました。

It was the sixth day since we entered the area of ​​Ako City's Traffic Park, which has the worst accumulation of sediment and is the most difficult to clean, but perhaps because of our improved procedures or the birds' cheers, we were able to clean the largest area we have cleaned in recent times, about 15 square meters.

一番多くの声援をくれたのは「ヒバリ」です。頭上高く舞い上がり、ホバリングをしながら、上から賑やかく応援してくれました。

The skylarks cheered us on the most. They flew high above our heads and hovered, cheering us on noisily from above.

　
「ヒバリ」の他には、時折、「ウグイス」がエールを送ってくれて、やがて「カラス」たちの合唱が加わりました。

In addition to the skylarks, the Japanese bush warblers occasionally cheered us on, and eventually the chorus of crows joined in.

けれど、前回の清掃の時から見守ってくれている鳥の名前が分かりません。前回は「オオルリ」かと思ったのですが、調べてみると鳴き方が違うのです。テンポは 一分間に 60拍「♩=60」で、リズムは四分音符に八分音符が二つ続く 「♩ ♪♪ 」を基本にしたメロディで、「ヒバリ」よりゆったりと響く音色で、「ウグイス」よりも豊かな声量で、河川敷をまたぐ橋の上から、美しいメロディを聞かせてくれるのです。次回、名前を尋ねてみます。

交通公園清掃日記「ヒバリたちの春」/ Cleaning Diary "Spring for Skylarks"

4月11日（金）、赤穂市の交通公園の路面清掃を、今年になって初めて、ヒバリのさえずり声を聞きながら行ないました。いよいよ、ヒバリたちにも春がやって来て、交通公園で一番タフなエリアの清掃も一歩前進しました。

On Friday, April 11th, while cleaning the roads of Traffic Park, I heard skylarks singing for the first time this year. With the arrival of spring for skylarks, we have made progress in cleaning the toughest area of ​​the park.

このエリアの土砂溜まりは、過去に、公園の横を流れている河川が何度か氾濫した結果でしょう。最大18㎝ 以上の厚みになっているのです。体力的には辛いエリアですが、特別な喜びもあります。それは、「この外周路はこんなに広かったんだ」と発見できるからです。

The mud puddles in this area are probably the result of the river that runs alongside the park flooding several times in the past. They are up to 18 cm thick. It is a physically tough area, but it also brings special joy. That is, you can discover that "this outer path was so wide."

このエリアから土砂溜まりを清掃できたら、きっと見違える様な印象になるでしょうし、初めて自転車を練習する子供たちは、きっと安心して走り抜けられるでしょう。それが願いですし喜びです。

If we can clean up the dirt piles in this area, it will surely make a completely different impression, and children who are learning to ride their bicycles for the first time will be able to ride through it with more confidence. That is my wish and joy.

＜追伸 / PS. ＞

早朝、長く響き渡る鳥のさえずり声を目で追うと、ヒバリよりも少し大きく、黒っぽい体色でした。もしかするとオオルリかも知れません。また会えますように。

Early in the morning, I followed the long chirps of a bird with my eyes and saw that it was a little larger than a skylark and had a darker body color. It might be a blue-and-white flycatcher. I hope to see it again.

路面清掃活動「清掃という名の発掘」/ Excavation Called Cleaning

4月4日、赤穂市の交通公園の路面清掃活動は、最も土砂の堆積が多いエリアに入っていて、清掃と称した ”発掘” 作業になっています。でも、犬の散歩で公園を訪れた男性から「ずいぶん綺麗になりましたね」と言われて、とても嬉しかったです。

On April 4th, the road cleaning activity at the Traffic Park in Akō City entered the area with the highest accumulation of sediment, turning the cleaning into an "excavation" work. However, when a man visiting the park with his dog said, "It's gotten quite clean," I was very happy.

赤穂市では、この交通公園が作られて以来、大雨による大規模な浸水被害が何度か報告されていて、その際に公園のコース上に土砂が堆積していった結果で、厚さ18㎝ 以上に砂や小石などが地層状に重なって堆積してます。

Since the construction of this traffic park in Ako City, several reports of large-scale flooding damage due to heavy rain have been made, resulting in sediment accumulation on the park's course, with layers of sand and small stones piled up to a thickness of over 18 cm.

路面清掃を始めた当初は、まさかこんなに堆積しているとは想像していなくて、簡単に清掃できると考えていました。自然の力は強大です。しかし、小さな人間の力でも、根気よく続けていけば、多くの人が安心して利用できる公園になるのは間違いありません。

When we first started street cleaning, we never imagined there would be such a buildup. The power of nature is immense. However, with even a small human effort, if we persistently continue, there is no doubt that it will become a park that many people can use with peace of mind.

現在、清掃を行なっているエリアは、横を流れている川の下流側になる場所のため、他の場所よりも最も土砂が堆積しやすい場所になっているのでしょう。まだまだ、発掘作業、路面清掃作業が必要です。

The area currently being cleaned is likely the place downstream of the river flowing next to it, which makes it the most prone to sediment accumulation compared to other locations.

春の交通安全運転週間までにはこのエリアの清掃を完了したかったのですが、焦らずに、無理をせずに、丁寧な作業を続けていきます。 次回の清掃目標は、このエリアの路面をさらに綺麗にする事です。

I wanted to complete the cleaning of this area sooner, but I will continue to work carefully without rushing or overdoing it. The next cleaning goal is to make the surface of this area even cleaner.
