僕には、落ち込んだ時に、普段では決して買わないモノを買う癖があります。例えば、練習中の転倒で脚を骨折してしまい、日常生活や通勤の不便さ以上に、オートバイに乗れない事で深く落ち込んでしまっていた時は、通勤途中にある百貨店に思わず入り、手のひらサイズの、赤や黄色などの花柄が描かれた パジャマ を買って、それで随分と気持ちが救われました。
I've always had this weird habit: when I’m really depressed, I buy things I normally wouldn’t even look at. Like the time I broke my leg during practice. I was more upset about not being able to ride than the inconvenience of daily life. One day on my way to work, I randomly walked into a department store and bought this tiny, palm‑sized pajama set covered in red and yellow flowers. It sounds silly, but it actually helped me feel better.
それと同様に、1995年1月17日、阪神・淡路大震災の直撃で自宅が全壊した時にも随分と深く落ち込みました。各地の被害状況が分からない中、仕事を任されていた 大阪の梅田へ向かう為に、ガレキの下敷きになっていた ブロスP1 を掘り出して、修理して、震災直後から ブロスでの通勤をせざるを得なくなったのです。本来ならば、競技専用にセットアップした車両ですから、通勤に使うなんて邪道で、その上、埃だらけの道路や、時には倒壊したブロック塀の上を走らせるなんて、仕事だけでなく、水や食料を確保する為とは言っても、とても大きなストレスの毎日だったのです。そして、約半年後、新居が決まり、生活環境も少しずつ復旧が進んでいた日、TRX850 発売を目にしたのです。それは、かつて マツダのコスモAPが発売された時の様な衝撃を、落ち込んでいた僕に与えたのです。
And then came January 17, 1995—the Hanshin–Awaji Earthquake. My house was completely destroyed, and I was crushed. With no idea how bad things were across the region, I dug my Bros P1 out from under the rubble, fixed it up, and had to start commuting to Umeda on it right away. It was a race‑setup machine, so using it for commuting already felt wrong. Riding through dusty roads and even over collapsed block walls—whether for work or just to get water and food—was incredibly stressful. And about half a year later, after I’d finally found a new place and life was slowly getting back to normal, I saw the announcement for the TRX850. The impact it had on me was almost exactly like the shock I felt when the Cosmo AP came out.
1973年の第一次オイルショックの影響で、看板のロータリーエンジンの低燃費がクローズアップされてしまい、販売不振に陥っていたマツダが、1975年、起死回生の一台とした 発売したのが コスモAP だったのです。 話題になった燃費性能を40％ほど改善して、米国で厳しくなった排ガス規制さえもクリアして、当時としてはかなり目立つスタイリングと真っ赤なボディカラー、そして更に、当時のトップモデルの 宇佐美恵子 さんを起用した広告はとても斬新で、オイルショック以降、落ち込んでいた社会全体さえも元気づける様な車として受け止められて、発売から 1年半で 約10万台を売り上げて、マツダの救世主となった車です。そして、1995年、コスモAPの思い出がある僕の前に、同じ真っ赤なカラーを纏った TRX850 が発売されたのです。だから、殆ど迷わず、衝動買いでした。
Back in the 1970s, Mazda was struggling after the oil crisis because their rotary engines were suddenly criticized for fuel economy. Then in 1975, they released the Cosmo AP as their comeback model. Better fuel economy, cleared the tough U.S. emissions standards, bold styling, bright red paint, and ads featuring top model Keiko Usami—it was a car that felt like it could lift the whole country’s spirits. It sold about 100,000 units in a year and a half and basically saved Mazda.
So when a bright‑red TRX850—so reminiscent of that Cosmo AP—appeared in 1995, I didn’t hesitate. It was an instant “I’m buying this.”
当然（？）、購入した時は真っ赤なボディカラーでしたが、直ぐに、黄色くなりました。フロントフォークやシートは白くなりました。そして、乗ってみた印象は、「ブレーキがコントローラブル」でした。ブレンボのキャリパーが標準採用されている事もあり、微妙なブレーキタッチに応じて、停止寸前の繊細なブレーキングもコントロール出来る上質感は TRX850 で初めて体験しました。しかし、スポーツ走行には不向きな点もありました。特に、ワインディングの上り坂で、スロットルで大きな荷重を掛けて走行した際などは、ステアリングステムが 周波数 2-3Hz 位で振動するのが感じられるのです。かつて乗っていた、ヤマハ の XJ400 や XJ400E、そして FZ750 などの 4気筒車では感じられなかった事なので、恐らく、SR500 や TX などの車両を開発したチームが担当した車両だったのでしょう。その振動で、フロントタイヤのグリップ低下や車体全体の振動の原因になっているとは感じませんでしたが、徐々に生活環境が回復するにつれて、衝動の “恋” が冷めて、購入後、1年と少しで、画像（1995年11月撮影）で乗っている 彼の元にドナドナされていきました。でも、これからも、深く落ち込んだ時には、真っ赤なオートバイを、きっと、買ってしまうのでしょう。
I bought it in red, of course… but it didn’t stay red for long. Before I knew it, the bike was yellow, with white forks and a white seat. My first impression riding it was how nicely the brakes responded. With Brembo calipers as standard, the fine control—especially right before stopping—was something I’d never experienced before.
But it wasn’t perfect for sporty riding. On uphill winding roads, when loading the front heavily with the throttle, I could feel the steering stem vibrating at around 2–3 Hz. I’d never felt that on the four‑cylinder Yamahas I’d owned—XJ400, XJ400E, FZ750—so I figured maybe the team behind the SR500 or TX series worked on this bike. The vibration didn’t feel dangerous, but as my life settled down again, that “impulse romance” faded. A little over a year after buying it, I sold it to the guy in the photo (taken in November 1995).
Still, I’m pretty sure that the next time I hit a deep slump, I’ll probably end up buying another bright‑red motorcycle.

オートバイでコーナリング（旋回）をしている時に、加速や減速をすると、オートバイが描く走行ライン（軌跡）は 必ず “クロソイド曲線” に良く似た曲線を描きます。 オートバイを確実に安定させて、楽しく安全に乗るには この “クロソイド曲線” 的なラインを頭にイメージする事が大切です。しかし、ライダーは自分がイメージしたラインで走る事が多く、この独特な特性を十分に理解していないので、時々、「思った通り走ってくれない！」となってしまいます。
When cornering (turning) on a motorcycle, the path the motorcycle follows is always similar to a "clothoid curve." To ensure a stable, fun, and safe ride, it's important to visualize this "clothoid curve" in your mind. However, riders often ride along the line they imagine and don't fully understand this unique characteristic, which can sometimes lead to frustration.
そこで、“クロソイド曲線” を使って、オートバイの特性を解説する記事の作成を進める為、色々な AI を使って教えて貰ったのですが、苦労しました。聞き方が悪いのか？ 曲線を描く為の関数式（ 例えば ( \int_{0}^{t} \cos(z^2) dz, \int_{0}^{t} \sin(z^2) dz )）などの理解が僕に足りないのか、グラフ描画ソフトでの作成に時間ばかり掛かってしまいました。そして、ようやく、ここまで出来ました。
So, in order to create an article explaining the characteristics of motorcycles using the "clothoid curve," I used various AI tools to help me, but it was difficult. Was it because I was asking the wrong questions? Perhaps I lacked a good understanding of the functional formulas used to draw the curve (e.g., ( \int_{0}^{t} \cos(z^2) dz, \int_{0}^{t} \sin(z^2) dz )), but it took a long time to create it using graphing software. Finally, I finally made it this far.
後は、開設用の図に挿入する事と、出来れば アニメーション（動画）で動かす予定です。どうぞ、オートバイを、楽しく、安全に走らせるのに欠かせない、“クロソイド” 的な曲線の解説記事にご期待下さい。

神奈川県警の交通機動隊のパトカーに乗務する複数の警察官が、本来の規定に反して、2600件以上を交通違反として不正検挙していた事が判明しています。
Several officers working in the Kanagawa Prefectural Police Traffic Mobile Unit's patrol cars have been found to have illegally arrested over 2,600 vehicles for violations, in violation of applicable regulations.
交通機動隊員が追尾で速度超過車両を検挙する場合、一般的に、パトカーや白バイに関わらず、一般道では 約30ｍの距離を保って 約 100ｍ の追尾が基本で、高速道路では 約 50ｍの距離で 300ｍ が基本的な規定とされています。
そして、今回、この警察官による不正が発覚した原因とされているのが、検挙された人の車両の後方ドライブカメラ映像だったとされ、その人が神奈川県警に対しての相談で発覚しており、パトカー側の 該当するドライブレコーダー映像は消去されていた様子です。
When Traffic Mobile Unit officers arrest speeding vehicles by pursuit, whether in a patrol car or motorcycle, the standard is to maintain a distance of approximately 30 meters and pursue for approximately 100 meters on public roads, and a distance of approximately 50 meters and 300 meters on expressways.
The alleged cause of this officer's misconduct was allegedly the rearview dashcam footage of the arrested person's vehicle. This was discovered when the arrested person contacted Kanagawa Prefectural Police, and it appears that the relevant dashcam footage from the patrol car had been deleted.
交通警察官による不正検挙はこの事案に限らず、かなり以前からよく体験している事ですが、適切な運転をしている人や、適切な取り締まりを行なっている警察官が 被害や悪評を受けない社会システムになる事を望みます。 また、将来的には、車載のカメラとレーダーセンサー、そしてAI を利用して、走行中の検挙すべき車両と違反内容を即座にモニター上に表示し、GPS機能を利用して違反箇所も記録して、それらを基に検挙書類も作成される様になるでしょう。いや、それ以前に、多くの車両委が SDV化 して、クラウド上で管理される走行データから検挙される時代が来るかもしれません。そうなると、ますます、旧車の需要が高まりそうですね。
Fraudulent arrests by traffic police officers are not unique to this case; they have been common for some time. Hopefully, we can create a social system in which responsible drivers and police officers conducting proper traffic enforcement are not harmed or criticized. In the future, onboard cameras, radar sensors, and AI will be used to instantly display arrestable vehicles and violation details on a monitor, while GPS functionality will be used to record the location of the violation and create arrest documents based on this information. Even before that, perhaps many vehicles will be converted to SDVs, and arrests will be made based on driving data managed on the cloud. This will likely further increase demand for classic cars.

とかく、表舞台に立つ者だけを見て、時にそれに熱狂し、我を忘れてしまう事もあるでしょうが、大切な事は陰で操る存在を観る事です。人気を集める者は、時には批判も集め、いずれは表舞台から姿を消します。しかし、私達の人生は続きます。後悔の無い人生を送るには、陰で操る者の経歴や狙いを知る事の方が大切です。
People often focus on those who stand in the spotlight and may even become excited by them. But what truly matters is keeping an eye on the forces working behind the scenes. Popular figures rise and fall, and eventually disappear from the stage, while our lives continue. To live without regret, it is more important to understand the background and intentions of those who pull the strings from the shadows.
院政とは、平安時代から鎌倉時代にかけて行なわれた政治的な体制です、天皇の位を退いた者が、その位を別の人物に与えて天皇に就かせた後も、その天皇を超える権力を持ち続け、政治を思うがままに操ったシステムです。 具体的に “院政” を行なった有名な人物は、白河上皇（上皇とは天皇を退いた人の称号）、鳥羽上皇、後白河上皇 などで、彼らが支配した期間は 約 100年間です。因みに、白河上皇は 77歳で亡くなっており、当時としてはかなりの高齢とされています。
Insei was a political system that existed from the Heian to Kamakura periods. Even after abdicating, an emperor bestowed his title on another person, he continued to wield power beyond that of the emperor and controlled politics as he pleased. Famous examples of "insei" include Emperor Shirakawa (the title given to a retired emperor), Emperor Toba, and Emperor Goshirakawa, who ruled for approximately 100 years. Incidentally, Emperor Shirakawa died at the age of 77, considered quite old for the time.
