令和の “院政” 始まる / "Insei" (Cloistered Rule) Begins

圧倒的な人気に支えられて、彼女の前途は洋々としている様に見えますが、実際には “陰の実力者” による操り人形だという認識が必要です。舞台上の彼女に注目するのではなく、表舞台には出る事はない彼に注目すべきです。

While her overwhelming popularity makes her future bright, it's important to recognize that she's actually a puppet of the "power behind the scenes." Rather than focusing on her onstage, we should focus on the man who never appears in the public eye.

とかく、表舞台に立つ者だけを見て、時にそれに熱狂し、我を忘れてしまう事もあるでしょうが、大切な事は陰で操る存在を観る事です。人気を集める者は、時には批判も集め、いずれは表舞台から姿を消します。しかし、私達の人生は続きます。後悔の無い人生を送るには、陰で操る者の経歴や狙いを知る事の方が大切です。

People often focus on those who stand in the spotlight and may even become excited by them. But what truly matters is keeping an eye on the forces working behind the scenes. Popular figures rise and fall, and eventually disappear from the stage, while our lives continue. To live without regret, it is more important to understand the background and intentions of those who pull the strings from the shadows.


院政とは、平安時代から鎌倉時代にかけて行なわれた政治的な体制です、天皇の位を退いた者が、その位を別の人物に与えて天皇に就かせた後も、その天皇を超える権力を持ち続け、政治を思うがままに操ったシステムです。 具体的に “院政” を行なった有名な人物は、白河上皇（上皇とは天皇を退いた人の称号）、鳥羽上皇、後白河上皇 などで、彼らが支配した期間は 約 100年間です。因みに、白河上皇は 77歳で亡くなっており、当時としてはかなりの高齢とされています。

Insei was a political system that existed from the Heian to Kamakura periods. Even after abdicating, an emperor bestowed his title on another person, he continued to wield power beyond that of the emperor and controlled politics as he pleased. Famous examples of "insei" include Emperor Shirakawa (the title given to a retired emperor), Emperor Toba, and Emperor Goshirakawa, who ruled for approximately 100 years. Incidentally, Emperor Shirakawa died at the age of 77, considered quite old for the time.
